Q&A with Seneca’s Caleb Wright – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Rally Network

Seneca band member Caleb Wright told Prep Sports about his life in an interview.

PREP SPORTS: What are your personal goals for the year?

My personal goals every year is to keep ok getting better and spreading love but this year specifically I’m focusing on slowing down and enjoying what I have.

PREP SPORTS: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

Most fun I’ve had is probably going to Florida with the Band or going to South Dakota with a bunch of friends.

PREP SPORTS: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?

This isn’t a fair question to me because I believe that every teacher shapes us and teaches us in some sort of way but if I had to go down to Top three it would be my Directors that have been like brothers and fathers to me or Mr. Hatfield who taught me to always strive for greatness and never give up.

PREP SPORTS: What is your favorite athletic memory?

There was one time where the band was eating at a diner and the watriess asked if I wanted sausage on my gravy and I responded with saying “no gravy please” and I was sitting next to my directors at the time and they still haven’t let me forget it to this day.

PREP SPORTS: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

The teamate that left the biggest impression was probably this guy named Jake Lievens. He was an Senior when I was a freshman and he quickly made me feel at home in everything I was doing. I still call him my brother to this day.

PREP SPORTS: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part is all the famliy and friends I have made along the way, the strive to all be better together.

PREP SPORTS: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?

I would go to some beach or the Bahamas and take my Papa along with me maybe find him that tall blonde he has been looking for.

PREP SPORTS: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

I want to say something like invest or something but truthfully I would probably buy some video games and stuff then go get myself a nice candy bar probably a whatchamacallit

PREP SPORTS: Do you participate in any community service projects?

I have here in there helping wherever I can, I’ve volunteered mostly at soup kitchens.

PREP SPORTS: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

I’m a big school pride guy so normally if I’m not busy practicing or working I’m cheering on my peers but I also do Speech and Debate and I like to act.

PREP SPORTS: Are you involved in academic excellence activities such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?

I’m in National Honor Society and Tri-M but that’s about it .
