Seneca volleyball player Danessa Macy recently completed an interview with Prep Sports telling us ” I just recovered from an ACL reconstruction surgery from October, and didn’t play much volleyball over the past year.” Something that will hopefully change this season as Macy shared her “favorite part of being on the volleyball team is being able to be a mentor to some of the underclassmen.”
When discussing her teammates Macy told Prep Sports “The teammate that has inspired me the most is Brylee Sage, who now plays volleyball at OCC. She just really loved people and strived to show compassion to everyone around her.” She went on to say “I’m not sure I actually have a favorite memory just during a game or a practice or anything. My favorite memory though is when Brylee and I took some freshmen to go and get G&W deli chicken before every home game.” Macy also shared that during her recovery she had “the most fun just hanging out” with Brylee.
As for the future Macy stated that her “personal goal for this year is to show love and compassion to everyone.” Not only will she be able to put this into practice in her athletic endeavors, but in her participation in the National Honor Society and the Fellowship for Christian Athletes as well.
