Seneca’s Madi Auman – Cheer Spotlight – Presented by Lazy Daisy

For Seneca senior Madi Auman, cheer has been more than just a sport—it’s been a lifelong passion rooted in community, family, and performance. “I am a Senior. I started cheering when I moved to Seneca in 3rd grade!” she said, reflecting on nearly a decade of dedication to the Red and Blue. Her journey has been filled with growth, teamwork, and championship moments that define her high school experience.

This season, Madi is soaking in every memory as she wraps up her senior year. “This season has gone great so far! We work together well, and we share a lot of laughs. I am thankful to spend my Senior season with this team!” she said. The group’s chemistry is evident in every routine, driven by friendship and shared goals.

When it comes to individual strengths, Madi shines brightest under the spotlight. “The strengths of my skill set are my performance. My favorite thing is performing on the mat or field and getting to choreograph all of our halftime routines this year. I think performing is one of the things I have improved on most this year and what I’ve worked on in the past!” she said.

Being a Seneca athlete holds a special meaning for her. “What makes Seneca a great place to be a student athlete is the support we get from everyone involved in the school and even including the town. I love the small-town bond that you get to share when an athlete being in Seneca,” she explained.

Madi also takes pride in watching her teammates grow alongside her. “The teammate that impressed me this season is Audra Harrison. She has improved tremendously as a flyer this year and I am so glad that I get to be her base!”

Before every competition, Madi relies on calm focus and faith. “I mentally prepare myself for competition by taking time to myself the morning of by praying and running through the routine in my head. It helps me get in the right mindset and calm my nerves a little bit,” she shared.

After graduation, Madi plans to take her artistry from the mat to the salon chair. “My goal for life after high school is to attend cosmetology school and open my own salon one day!”

Her inspiration comes from home. “My two older sisters inspire me every day. They are the reason I got into dance and cheer! They are who I look up to, and I hope to be like them one day.”

And as for her proudest moments? “The accomplishments I am most proud of are winning state all three years of high school and I am hoping to make it four!”
