When it comes to cheer, few athletes display the same passion and determination as Seneca High School senior Audra Harrison. Her journey began long before high school— “I am a senior and I started cheering in fifth grade!” she said proudly. That early start sparked a love for the sport that has only grown stronger over the years, leading her to make Seneca Cheer history.
The 2024-25 season hasn’t been without its challenges, but for Audra and her teammates, adversity has become fuel for success. “This season has come with its challenges, but this team has worked so hard to overcome it!” she said. The Seneca squad has built a reputation for toughness, teamwork, and consistency—qualities that have helped them continue their legacy of excellence.
When reflecting on her personal growth this season, Audra’s focus is on skill and mindset. “This year I have improved in my skills and confidence while flying,” she explained. That confidence has helped elevate her both literally and figuratively, as she’s become a key contributor in Seneca’s remarkable run of achievements.
Balancing academics and athletics is no easy task, but Audra believes Seneca sets the standard. “Seneca pushes you to be the best athlete you can be while also maintaining good grades,” she said. The support and structure of the school environment have helped her excel both in the classroom and on the mat.
Team chemistry has been another cornerstone of Seneca’s success, and Audra is quick to recognize leadership in others. “Jacie Bard is a junior this year and has stepped up majorly in her leadership and encouragement on and off the mat,” she said.
Her pre-competition mindset focuses on both performance and faith. “I mentally prepare myself for competition by doing the best I can for my teammates and also steadying my mind through prayer,” she shared.
When asked what she loves most about her squad, her answer radiates positivity: “The thing I love most about my teammates is the positivity and encouragement we carry into every practice.”
Looking ahead, Audra plans to continue her success story beyond cheer. “After high school, I plan on attending the University of Arkansas in the fall to pursue nursing,” she said.
Her biggest inspiration? “My mom is my biggest inspiration. She pushes me to be the best I can be and is always cheering me on in every season of life!”
And the accomplishment she’ll never forget—one that cements her name in Seneca Cheer history: “I am most proud of making Seneca Cheer history by carrying on the five-peat!”
