Indian football player Gavyn Hoover is striving to “help both my football team and basketball team make it all the way to state” this year. As it pertains to football Hoover told us that his favorite part about this team is “Knowing that I am playing side by side with a group of guys that are going to work hard and have my back on and off the field. We are like minded and have the same competitive mindset. I couldn’t ask for better teammates.”
Hoover and his teammates won their district championship last year. A moment Hoover shared to be his favorite athletic memory saying “When Mt. Vernon had no timeouts left and the clock was stopped at 42 seconds I got the ball and ran backwards until the time was under 40. I slid down and remember the whole stadium erupt celebrating that we won back to back district championships.”
Recently Hoover had the chance to attend his first college football game where he sat in the student section at OSU sharing that “The energy was crazy. It was a lot of fun!”
