Lincoln Renfro, who was one of the top linebackers in the area last season, is excited to see what this season holds for him and his teammates.
“Our season is going pretty well so far,” Renfro said. “Although we are not worried about what happens or how we do in the regular season, it would still be really cool to go undefeated. Everyone on the team is starting to click and fixing small details.”
Last season, Renfro was a first team all-conference, all-district and all-state linebacker and was named the Class Three Defensive Player of the Year.
Being a vocal leader is one of Renfro’s best attributes and he makes it a point that his teammates know it.
“I like to be the hype man on the team and get everyone going, but there are times where I am not the ‘hype guy,’ so I rely on my teammates on occasions to hype me up and get the energy going,” Renfro said. “Improvements I have been making are always bringing the energy no matter what, good or bad days.”
Even though playing football, baseball or wrestling in college is a priority for Renfro, he is focused on enjoying each season of his senior year. He also would like to be a registered nurse.
