Q&A with Seneca’s Chloe Arwood – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Rally Networks

Seneca cheerleader Chloe Arwood recently spoke with Prep Sports in an interview.

PREP SPORTS: What are your personal goals for the year?

My personal goals for the year included winning the State Cheerleading Title with my teammates, along with earning an Academic Letter, both of which I accomplished.

PREP SPORTS: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory would be winning the State Cheerleading Title during my Sophomore year. It was a hard season, it was my first year to cheer in high school, and it required so much more than I ever thought. Yet pulling off the win with my teammates was by far the best feeling in the world. I will never forget jumping up and down with my team after hitting, knowing we all just killed it!

PREP SPORTS: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Several people have left an impact, but the biggest impression had to be Bailee Adams. Bailee has always motivated me to work harder, be a genuine person, and live everyday life with a positive attitude. Throughout the last two years, Bailee has always been so patient and kind.

PREP SPORTS: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part about being on this team is that we’re a family. I consider each and everyone of these girls as a part of my circle. We go through so many experiences together and truly make connections with each other that I believe are difficult to find anywhere else.

PREP SPORTS: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

This year, I am a member of Stucco and FBLA. I love Student Council as it really allows me to be involved with the school. I get to talk with a lot of people, get creative with school events, and feel a part of something bigger. FBLA has taught me significant lessons, along with bringing out my creative side through real-world scenarios. It’s a unique club that I feel will be very beneficial in the future!

PREP SPORTS: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Cheer has taught me many things, yet I believe my favorite is learning to always be confident and remain true to who you are. Cheer has brought me out of my box more than I thought it could and has ultimately taught me to always involve others, keep a smile on my face, and to work hard for what you believe in.

PREP SPORTS: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

The best advice a person has ever given me comes from my dad. Ever since I was little, I’ve understood his motto: There are two things you can control in life. That is your Attitude and your Effort. I truly remind myself of this everyday.

PREP SPORTS: Who inspires you and why?

The person who inspires me the most would have to be my sister Maddie Arwood, my sister has shown me that hard work pays off. She has never given up on her dreams and has accomplished so many of them. She makes me remember to hold on to mine and achieve them just like her.

PREP SPORTS: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

First, I want to thank my coach, Nita Hanes. You always support me, you see the best in me, and you have made such a strong impact on my life. Words can’t express my gratitude for how hard you push me to be the best version of myself.

And last but not least, I want to shout out my mama, Amber Arwood. She’s my biggest fan, the best conversation holder, and my number one supporter through everything, cheer and life alike. She has helped me become the person I am, guided me in faithfulness, and taught me what it means to have a loving heart.
