Seneca’s Daelynd Campbell – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Lazy Daisy

Seneca athlete Daelynd Campbell spoke to Prep Sports in a recent interview sharing “My personal goals for this year are to maintain a 4.0 GPA or higher, build a positive environment for myself and the team, and be a good role model to the younger players.”

“My favorite part about being on this team is my coaches. They are like family to me and have been a major part of my life the past few years. When I moved here, they welcomed me with open arms and I greatly appreciated it. They’ve taught me how to deal with adversity and how to make the best of situations” said Campbell.

A main supporter of Campbell’s has been former Lady Indian Sami Mancini who Campbell stated ” We’ve played together since we were little kids and she pushed me to better myself and taught me a lot about using my size to my advantage”.

In fact, the two were together for what Campbell describes as “her favorite athletic memory” which was “when we won our district championship my freshman year”. Although in the last year Campbell has enjoyed “going to the district championship back in March”.

Campbell represents Seneca through her participation in ” Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). I chose to be a part of these groups so I could get more involved with other students and teachers in our school. I think it helps build stronger relationships with those around me”. She has also “helped with a community outreach with Journey to Bethlehem at Racine Christian Church and plans to do it again this year”. In addition, to her current status as a Student Council member – after Christmas Campbell will officially be inducted into the Seneca National Honor Society.
