VYPE caught up with Seneca Wrestler Jace Renfro to discuss his athletic experience.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
For next year my goal is to be an undefeated state champ.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
The most fun I had was probably when we ate at TGI Fridays after the state finals, and I got to spend time with the seniors on their last tournament.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher is probably Will Roark who is also one of our wrestling coaches, and I feel like we have a similar mindset and are on the same page most of the time.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory was probably watching my Dad’s wrestling team win the NJCAA national title in 2018, it was a great memory because they showed so much adversity and definitely influenced me.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
The teammate that has left the biggest impact on me is my brother Lincoln, he showed me that being vocal in the room is a big key to success. Another teammate that had an impact on me was Brady Roark, he has shown me many things that can impact me to be successful.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part of being on the team is knowing that I have teammates and coaches that are very supportive and very experienced.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
If I could go anywhere on a vacation I would probably go to Italy and visit the Vatican, I would take my whole family.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
If I had $500 I would probably spend it on a pair of Red Rulon Gardner wrestling shoes, or a pair of Kolats.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
I help with my church.
