VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goals are to work hard and excel in my sports so I can possibly work for a scholarship and to continue playing.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
The most fun I have had this past year was getting to cheer with my old buddies for the first time in 2 years and the whole trip to state itself with all of the fun memories and, of course, winning state for the first time.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher has to be Mr. Roark; he was my math teacher during my first two years of high school. He made learning math really fun and easy. The way he explained everything and took his time explaining it made sense, and he was willing to work with every kid to get them to where they needed to be.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory is winning districts during my junior year of softball. We had lost a bunch of games in the beginning and came back and got that district title. We surprised ourselves, and I think we also had most of Seneca shocked.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Aliya Grotjohn has left the biggest impression on me in softball and basketball because she always taught me to never give up. She would work with me on anything I felt like I needed help with, and she encouraged me whenever I had a bad game or felt down about anything. She was a really uplifting teammate who was always positive. Every player on the team could go to her for advice or for extra help.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite thing about being on this team is how well we get along. It is really like one big family, and we always have each other’s backs. We push each other to work harder and become the best athletes we can be. We always work together, and I feel like that is what makes my team special.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
If I could go anywhere in the world for a vacation, I would go to Athens and Mykonos, Greece. It is such a beautiful place with beautiful scenery. There are also ancient sites all around to visit and see. The towns are also a great sight to see as not many places look the same as that. I would take my family with me. I always have the most fun, and I would feel the safest and most comfortable if my parents were with me.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
If I got $500 right now, I would honestly spend it on treating my family to a nice dinner or booking a fun little adventure in Branson or anywhere near us with them. And then whatever is left, I will keep and spend on things that I need at that moment.
